Indy and Nico’s carefree and romantic wedding at Windrift Hall in Coxsackie, New York was airy, bright, and full of love. I had met these two a year beforehand to do an engagement shoot and we all immediately had a connection. They were so kind, thoughtful, aware, and total poets! Arriving at Windrift Hall that day was like walking into a dream, one that they had been delicately crafting for many months. Windrift Hall is hands down one of my favorite places to photograph, with its 1795 historic manor house surrounded by 14 acres of pristine nature overlooking a private pond, gardens, stonewalls, and meadows. The light that bounces inside the house feels like you’ve walked into a painted Dutch still-life. One of my favorite parts of the day was the first look; Nico stood on the pond dock, and barefoot Indy walked across the lawn and down the stone steps into his arms. It was a scene straight out of a fairytale, and his forclempt expression when he first comes into her sight melts me every time! The ceremony was utterly beautiful with their vows invoking many tears as they exchanged poems. Their barefoot ceremony spoke directly to the essence of their connection to the land and environment. I could wrote about them for days but I’ll stop here.
